There are a number of great reasons why  couples choose Winfrey Point for their wedding day celebration. It’s easy on the budget and the views of downtown Dallas and White Rock Lake are phenomenal. Winfrey Point sits up high on a hilltop and offers picture perfect settings for  daytime or sunset wedding ceremonies. With White Rock Lake, which is the Dallas  equivalent of “Central Park” in the background your wedding photographs are guaranteed to be gorgeous.

Some say Winfrey Point is a hidden gem on White Rock Lake  or a more accurate description might be  “diamond in the rough”. Be prepared it’s strictly a DIY bring in everything kind of wedding venue.  That’s part of the charm, you can be as creative as you want with your wedding theme and decor.

Located on city of Dallas land, Winfrey Point is managed by the park district. The venue is not widely known to people outside of it’s east Dallas neighborhood.  The 2500 sq ft reception space, which looks like an old house ( well actually it is an old  house) has a definite “vintage vibe” to it. It comes with a back patio with views of White Rock Lake. Weekends book quickly and for reservations call the Dallas Park System. If your  hoping to book your wedding on a spring or fall Saturday evening, plan on reserving Winfrey Point at least a year in advance.

Dixie Does Vintage thinks the best part about a DIY Winfrey Point Wedding is how creative couples can be along with the ability to chose all your wedding vendors. There is no kitchen to speak of and the restrooms aren’t fancy, but how many wedding venues allow you to pull up a food truck, tamale stand, or a pizza oven at the front door? Dixie Does Vintage loves setting up our wedding lounges, vintage seating, reception tables, and outdoor wedding lawn games on the lawn, screened porches or back patios.

The screened in porches at Winfrey Point are a great spot to set up a fun cocktail or beverage bar, desert station,  coffee bar, or even a photo booth.
